Hit.
Resistance bomb reportedly kills three US Marines, badly injures
fourth in Hit Friday morning.
In a dispatch posted at 12:27pm Makkah time Friday afternoon,
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by
a US military vehicle on as-Sakalat street in the middle of Hit,
about 165km northwest of Baghdad on Friday morning.
The Hit correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the
local puppet police who asked not to be identified as saying that
the Resistance had packed a bomb in a cooking gas cylinder that was
then left with other cooking gas cylinders for sale in black market
shops on as-Sakalat Street, which is mainly an area where
construction materials are sold.
The disguised bomb went off by a US Humvee, destroying it virtually
completely and killing three US Marines. A fourth Marine was found
lying 10 meters (30 feet) away from the scene of the blast. He was
alive but both his legs had been blown off and he had suffered other
wounds in his body. Local witnesses believed he could not survive
longer than a few hours.
The correspondent reported that the Ansar as-Sunnah Resistance
organization took responsibility for the attack, one of the
organization's commanders speaking of the attack in an interview he
gave to the correspondent.
`Anah.
Resistance pounds US base in `Anah with heavy mortars Friday morning.
In a dispatch posted at 12:12pm Makkah time Friday afternoon,
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired four
heavy 120mm mortar rounds into the `Anah Youth Sports Center, a
facility that US troops have occupied and turned into a local
headquarters.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as
saying that Resistance fighters fired the mortar barrage at the US-
occupied facility in `Anah, about 300km northwest of Baghdad, at
about 8am local time Friday morning, scoring four direct hits on the
base.
The witnesses, who live in the area surrounding the American-
occupied center said that a number of US troops were taken out in
ambulances to the main US base in the center of the city. No
precise information on the nature or extent of casualties was
available, however.
Al-Hadithah.
Four US troops reported killed in powerful Resistance bomb attack
near Barwanah Bridge in al-Hadithah.
In a dispatch posted at 6:46pm Makkah time Friday evening, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that a high-explosive Iraqi Resistance bomb went
off by a US Humvee near head of the Barwanah Bridge in the Bani
Dahir area of southern al-Hadithah, about 236km northwest of Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the bomb had
been planted at the base of the bridge and exploded just as a US
Humvee was driving past. The blast destroyed the Humvee, killing
four US troops.
The correspondent reported that the bodies of the dead Americans
were strewn about the area. Witnesses said that a strong odor of
grilled human flesh pervading he area following the explosion and
was noticeable as far away as the Old Garage area. That was one
indication of the strength of the explosion that sent burned body
parts flying over a large area. US forces sealed off the entire
area and American helicopters flew in to prowl the skies overhead.
The correspondent reported that an American robotic bomb detector
was used to search the rest of the bridge for more explosives
Resistance fires nine Katyusha rockets into US base in Barwanah,
near al-Hadithah at dawn Friday.
In a dispatch posted at 12:03pm Makkah time midday Friday, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired a violent
barrage of nine Katyusha rockets into the US al-Hadbah ("the
Heights") base in Barwanah on the eastern outskirts of al-Hadithah,
236km northwest of Baghdad at dawn on Friday.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the
Islamic Army Resistance organization as saying that all the rockets
struck their targets. The Resistance fighters then withdrew from
their positions after clouds of black smoke enveloped the US base as
sirens wailed and helicopters flew in to evacuate casualties. The
al-Hadbah base is regarded as the largest US base in the area east
of al-Hadithah.
Ar-Ramadi.
Resistance car bomber blasts puppet police station in northern ar-
Ramadi midday Friday.
In a dispatch posted at 11:48am Makkah time Friday morning, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that just a few minutes earlier, an Iraqi
Resistance fida'i fighter had driven an explosives-laden car into
the al-Bu Farraj puppet police station which is under control of the
so so-called "al-Anbar Rescue Council" that serves the US occupation.
The ar-Ramadi correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported
eyewitnesses as saying that the Resistance fighter drove the
explosives-laden car through the first and second barriers
surrounding the puppet police station and blew himself up inside the
station building itself. There were dead and wounded among the
puppet policemen but no precise count was available at that time.
Abu Ghurayb.
Two-hundred US military vehicles under air escort head west into al-
Anbar Province.
In a dispatch posted at 11:46am Makkah time Friday morning, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that massive US military columns were observed
driving west through Abu Ghurayb into al-Anbar Province under air
escort of warplanes and helicopter gun ships. Eyewitnesses reported
that it appeared that the American columns were coming up from
southern Iraq.
The Abu Ghurayb correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that
tanks, armored vehicles, trucks hauling artillery pieces, Humvees
some of them armor plated in all a force of more than 200
vehicles was on its way into al-Anbar Province at that hour. The
correspondent reported that 15 minutes earlier the slow-moving
columns had passed through the Abu Munaysir area of Abu Ghurayb.
Because of the US convoys, all regular traffic on the highway west
from Baghdad into al-Anbar Province had been shut down.
Baghdad.
Bodies of 18 puppet police and Shi`i sectarian militias found
executed in Baghdad.
In a dispatch posted at 4:56pm Makkah time Friday afternoon,
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the bodies of 18 members of the
puppet security forces and Shi`i sectarian militias were found in
various parts of Baghdad. All were shot to death, execution style.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a medical source as
saying that 11 bodies belonged to members of the pro-Iranian Jaysh
al-Mahdi militia and the pro-American Badr Brigades, while the other
seven bodies belonged to members of the puppet police forces working
for the US occupation authorities.
The source reported that the bodies were discovered in the Baghdad
districts of al-`Amiriyah, al-Jihad, ad-Durah and near al-
A`zamiyah. Iraqi Resistance forces are reportedly waging a
vengeance campaign against the various Shi`i sectarian militias and
the security forces in which they form the backbone in retaliation
for the months of sectarian abductions, tortures, and murders that
those groups perpetrated against hundreds of Iraqis.
Salah ad-Din Province.
Bayji.
US carries out mass raids, arrests in Bayji Thursday-Friday night.
In a dispatch posted at 5:30pm Makkah time Friday afternoon,
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation forces carried out an
attack on the as-Sikak neighborhood of central Bayji, about 200km
north of Baghdad on Thursday-Friday night.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US troops
assaulted more than 40 homes in the neighborhood and arrested dozens
of local people.
The head of the Bayji municipality, Kamal as-Samarra'i told Mafkarat

women and children in the houses they raided by bringing in fierce

killed Lieutenant Colonel Sattar Jabbar, the General Director of
Information in the Command of the puppet police of Diyala Province.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet security
source as saying that Resistance fighters ambushed the Lieutenant
Colonel as he came out of the Provincial Government building on his
way home, spraying him with gunfire and killing him instantly.
Jabbar was one of those responsible for the information blackout
that prevented news of the sectarian massacres perpetrated by Shi`i
sectarian militias in Khan Bani Sa`d and al-Makhisah from being
reported. Jabbar also prevented news of Iranian border violations
in the al-Mundhiriyah area from being reported in recent months.
US occupation imposes curfew on Diyala province following battles
between Resistance fighters and pro-Iranian Shi`i sectarian Jaysh al-
Mahdi militia.
In a dispatch posted at 11:37am Makkah time Friday morning, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that US occupation forces had imposed a curfew on
the whole of Diyala Province, east of Baghdad.
The Ba`qubah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US
troops imposed the curfew and closed a number of mosques in the
city, threatening to kill anyone violating the curfew they had
imposed.
The correspondent reported that the reason for the curfew in the
city was the critical "security situation" there after 25 Jaysh al-
Mahdi Shi`i sectarian militiamen were killed and 35 more of them
captured. The bodies of the 35 were discovered on Friday morning in
a square in the al-Katun area, some 30km north of Ba`qubah,
following a Jaysh al-Mahdi assault on the area Thursday evening.
The killings of the sectarian militiamen took place as Iraqi
Resistance fighters and local residents were battling pro-Iranian
Jaysh al-Mahdi Shi`i sectarian militia who attacked the city on
Thursday.
Babil Province.
Al-Mahmudiyah.
Demonstrators in al-Mahmudiyah denounce plea-deal by American
soldier who took part in rape-murder of `Abir Qasim in their city.
In a dispatch posted at 1:38pm Makkah time Friday afternoon,
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that demonstrations swept through the
streets of al-Mahmudiyah, about 30km south of Baghdad on Friday,
denouncing the arrangement made by an American court, which accepted
a confession from one of the soldiers accused of the crime. For his
guilty plea the soldier will avoid the death penalty and is to
testify against his comrades.
The al-Mahmudiyah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that
the demonstration began in the center of the city and ended at the
graves of `Abir and her parents and sister, all killed by the
American rapist-murderers. Protestors denounced the arrangement as
an insult to the honor of Iraqis.
Al-Basrah Province.
Al-Basrah.
Four US troops, among others, abducted Friday near al-Basrah.
Austrian captive kidnapped with the Americans later found dead and
another kidnap victim found wounded. Iranian satellite TV broadcasts
statement claiming credit for abduction.
In a dispatch posted at 3:28pm Makkah time Friday afternoon,
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that four US occupation troops were
abducted in the southern Iraqi city of al-Basrah on Friday.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported informed sources as
saying that the American troops were traveling along the highway
into Iraq from Kuwait via Safwan when they were abducted by the road
to the al-Basrah International Airport by unknown armed men.
The correspondent reported that the mood in al-Basrah was tense
since the British and American occupation troops in the city come
under daily mortar and rocket attack.
In a dispatch posted at 11:50pm Makkah time Friday night, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that sources in the puppet police in al-Basrah had
reported that they had found the body of an Austrian who was
abducted on Friday together with four American troops in southern
Iraq.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that they also
found another person who had been abducted with the American. That
individual was discovered alive but wounded in a car south of al-
Basrah. The sources said that the body of the dead Austrian and the
wounded individual were turned over to British occupation troops.
The Iranian satellite TV station al-`Alam broadcast an announcement
by an individual claiming to be a member of an armed group known as
the "Islamic Squadrons" who took responsibility for the abduction of
the American troops. The declaration broadcast on al-`Alam TV was
the first time that an organization with such a name appeared in al-
Basrah.
Brigades of the South organization in secret declaration takes
credit for liquidating Iranian intelligence agents in al-Basrah.
In a dispatch posted at 3:28pm Makkah time Friday afternoon,
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a previously unknown group called
the Brigades of the South had recently issued a statement,
distributed with great secrecy in al-Basrah, in which it declared
its responsibility for killing people with ties to Iranian
intelligence.
The statement announced that such Iranian agents, "constitute the
spearhead of the Iranian campaign against the land of Iraq. The
statement said that "the Iraqi people in the south have awakened
from their slumber and will be treating the killers in the same way
that they treat the people."
The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that the strength of
the Brigades of the South remained unknown, but it appeared that the
organization had a direct role in the elimination of a number of
suspected Iranian agents in al-Basrah. Meanwhile there has been no
response to Iranian intelligence activity on the part of the puppet
provincial "government"or its weak puppet "Governing Council" whose
main preoccupations appear to be dividing up the private spoils
taken from the sail of Iraqi oil and settling scores among
themselves.
British soldier reported killed in clash with puppet "Iraqi Customs
Police" in az-Zubayr.
In a dispatch posted at 11:50pm Makkah time Friday afternoon,
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that British troops raided the puppet
Customs Police Directorate in az-Zubayr, about 17km southwest of al-
Basrah on suspicion that the puppet police might have been involved
in the abduction of four Americans on Friday.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the puppet
Customs Police fought back against the British troops, killing one
British occupation soldier and wounding a second. No information on
the nature or extent of casualties among the puppet Customs Police
was available.
The puppet Customs Police in al-Basrah are known to have been
involved in supporting the Shi`i sectarian armed militias in the
city. Their involvement in the murder of the Imam of the Sunni
Safwan Mosque, Shaykh YaSin Sayir two weeks ago was proven.
