Thanks for the reminder: My next book, which I hope will be out next year,
is on secret societies in mid-nineteenth century America.  It'll be chock
full of stories about confidence artists and conspiracy theories. All true,
but nothing heavy and theoretical.

In fact, parts of it would probably make a dandy little comic book.
