Concerning the SLP I really have little to contribute, as I have
not followed the European politics beyond the very interesting occurances
in Poland and the rumored occurances in Russia with the CP possibly
re-gaining power. I would also like to know more about the nature of the
CP in Russia, and how it differs from the older Stalinist regimes, or the
newer Gorbechov/Kruschev (sp?) sets.

I would be interested in some opinions from this group on the
directions that the left in America is heading, and especially where you
feel all the many sects fit in. I recognize there are many independent
marxists, as well as many aligned with parties, present on this list and
I'd like to hear a few pieces on where the communist/socialist left are
heading in America, then I'll get together a piece soon with my thoughts
on the subject. How long can the divided left continue? Also can one
answer approximately how many members are in the CPUSA as of now, and
possibly how many hold membership with PLP and COC as I'm looking for
those numbers to use in a research paper.
