Patrick, doesn't demonising Mugabe, when the only alternative to his
government is that of a US protégé, count as "talking left, walking
right"?
About neoliberalism's rehabilitation of the Hegelian concept of "civil
society", I prefer Marx's original critique of it, crucial to
socialism, in "On the Jewish Question", as the alienated right of
property; he called it the war of all against all.
George W. Bush has forever defined democracy, as he claimed at a press
conference he had made it clear to Vladimir: "Democracy means, when
you make an investment, you know that the laws won't be changed --
:-)" (His smiley face, not mine). Soros made the meaning of all this
clear in Georgia.
